Affect or Effect?

I’m so down with the English language, using punctuation and grammar correctly, but these two words stump me every time. Is it affect or effect? Here’s my attempt to help you never need to Google these two words again.

If you “affect” something, you’re performing an action – and your action “effects” the result.

Most website will tell you that affect is a verb and effect is a noun but this is confusing. Forget that advice.

Amanda pushed Allen out of the way AFFECTING where he landed.”

Elaine saw what happened and it EFFECTED her so much she cried.”

Effected sounds like a verb in that sentence doesn’t it? Here’s my hint for you to get it right every time without the need to avoid using it or Google it again…
